Information we collect
Depending on how you use the store, we collect your name, email, delivery and billing addresses, telephone number, order details, payment and transaction information, account details and customer-service messages. Payment information is processed through our payment service providers. We also collect device and browser details, IP addresses, cookie identifiers and information about pages, products and interactions on the website.
We receive information directly from you, automatically through cookies and similar technologies, and from service providers involved in payments, fulfilment, analytics and advertising. If you do not provide information required to process an order, we may be unable to fulfil it.
How we use information
We use personal information to process orders and payments, arrange delivery, provide customer support, manage returns and accounts, prevent fraud, secure and improve the store, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. We may also use information to measure advertising and personalise marketing where permitted by law and your choices.
Under the UK GDPR, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as operating and securing the store where those interests are not overridden by your rights, or your consent where required.
Cookies, analytics and marketing
Cookies and similar technologies support the cart, checkout, security, preferences, analytics and advertising. Marketing tools, including Meta tools where enabled, may receive identifiers and browsing or purchase events to measure campaigns and show relevant advertising. Use the cookie or privacy controls available on the website and your browser settings to manage your choices. Blocking necessary cookies may affect the cart or checkout.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails through the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We may still send messages needed to fulfil an order or respond to your request. Where consent is required for marketing or non-essential cookies, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Who receives information
We share information as needed with Shopify, payment providers, fulfilment and delivery partners, customer-support and technical providers, and analytics or advertising partners. These recipients process information to provide their services, subject to applicable law and their roles. We may disclose information to professional advisers or public authorities where legally required, to protect rights and prevent fraud, or in connection with a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We do not publish customer contact information.
Shopify and enhanced services
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Information submitted to the store is shared with Shopify and relevant service providers, which may be in other countries. Shopify processes information to provide and improve its services. Where Shopify enhanced features are used, Shopify may combine information about interactions with this store and other merchants to provide those features, including personalised advertising. For those purposes Shopify is responsible for its own processing.
Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and visit the Shopify Privacy Portal for information and available options to object to or opt out of Shopify's processing.
International transfers
Our business is based in the United States and our store serves customers in the United Kingdom. Personal information may be stored or processed outside the UK, including in the United States, Canada and other countries where Shopify and our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where we transfer personal information from the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for information about the relevant recipients and safeguards.
Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including order records, support, tax or accounting duties, fraud prevention and legal claims. Retention depends on the type of information and applicable requirements; we do not promise immediate deletion where records must be kept. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, although no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to access your personal information, have it corrected or erased, receive a copy in a portable format, restrict our processing or object to certain processing, including direct marketing. Some rights have exceptions, such as where information must be kept by law. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Contact contact@vorylane.com to make a request. We may reasonably verify your identity before disclosing or changing information and will respond within one month, as required by law. Rights relating to Shopify's independent processing can also be exercised through its Privacy Portal.
Complaints
Send privacy questions or complaints to the email or business address above. We will review the issue, ask for any information needed to investigate and respond to you. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Children and external links
The store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information that should be removed. Websites linked from our store have their own privacy practices; please review their policies before sharing information.
Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the store, our practices or applicable requirements. We will publish the updated version here, revise the date and give any additional notice required by law.
